MBA ENTRANCE

   Punjab MET  (MBA/MCA IN PUNJAB COLLEGES)

                      MET Punjab or the Management Entrance Test for MBA in Punjab is conducted in June/July each year at 7 centres in Punjab for admission to colleges under Guru Nanak Dev Univeristy (GNDU), Punjabi University and Punjab Technical University (PTU).. The centres are Amritsar, Bathinda, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala and Mohali. In total, approximately 45 colleges in Punjab use the exam for their admission process. The forms are submitted around the first week of June and the roll numbers are issued on the spot on receipt of application form..

ELIGIBILITY

For admission to the MBA Course through the Management Entrance Test (MET), 85% seats will be reserved for the internal candidates from within the State of Punjab and 15% will be open to candidates from outside State. GRADUATES FROM ALL STREAM ARE ELIGIBLE

HP-CMAT 2012 

HP-CMAT 2012 is a common entrance test for admission to Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme for all the universities/Institutions affiliated to universities in Himachal Pradesh. In accordance with the UGC guidelines there shall be only one entrance test for all such Institutions. The Government of Himachal Pradesh, Department of Technical Education has designated (MBA Deptt.) Institute of Management Studies, HP University Summerhill, Shimla-5, as the Nodal agency for conducting Entrance Test for MBA admission to all the Universities/ Institutions affiliated to universities in HP. HP-CMAT 2012 Conducting Body

The management aptitude test is conducted by Institute of Management Studies (at Himachal Pradesh University) on behalf of the Department of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Himachal Pradesh.

HP-CMAT 2012 Eligibility

  • The candidates should not be more than 26 years of age except NRI/NRI Sponsored/Foreign National candidates/students, and serving/retired defence personnel. For the SC/ST candidates, there is a relaxation of three years in the upper age limit.
  • The candidates need to have passed in graduation or its equivalent examination under 10+2+3 scheme, from any recognized University.
  • The qualifying examination must be passed by the candidates with not less than 50% marks in aggregate. In case of SC/ST candidates, they need to have passed graduation with at least 45% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • The candidates, who are appearing in final year of qualifying examination, are also eligible to apply for appearing in the entrance test.

HP-CMAT 2012 Exam Pattern

  1. It is written test for three hours.
  2. The question paper comprises of only objective type questions.
  3. The candidates have to choose the right answer from multiple options.
  4. All the questions in the paper are divided into four sections, each section in the question paper comprises of 50 questions:
  • English Comprehension
  • Reasoning
  • Business Environment
  • Arithmetic Comprehension & Data Interpretation

The application form along with prospectus can be obtained either from the institute’s cash counter by depositing Rs.500/- (Subsidized & non-Subsidized) (Rs. 250 for SC/ST candidates) or by post by sending a Demand Draft for Rs.550/- (Subsidized & non-Subsidized) (Rs.300 for SC/ST candidates) in favour of “Director, IMS HP University”, payable at Shimla.

HP-CMAT 2012 Syllabus

Talking about preparation for the management aptitude test, the candidate appearing in the HP CMAT must prepare English Comprehension, Reasoning, Business Environment and Arithmetic Comprehension & Data Interpretation, based on which questions are generally asked in the test.
